Creating Community Connections at WEST

Charles Street is now home to the WEST Library, Community Hub and Medical Centre. The facility is a vibrant, attractive and modern centre that will enhance connections and creativity within the WEST community. It is a next-generation, integrated community place that is recognised as a centre of excellence for literacy, learning, innovation and discovery. This new 3-storey multi-purpose building is also home to a range of medical and allied health services including InHealth Medical Centre, HQ Laser and Dental Clinic, West Lakes Podiatry, and Body Fit Training's new modern gym and The Daily Fixx Cafe.

The Library and Community Hub, which is located on Mikawomma Country is known as Ngutungka, which is Kaurna for ‘place of knowledge’. The hub offers a range of workshops such as baking sessions in their fully functional kitchen, tech sessions in the Digital Lab and an exciting new come ‘n try space that provides a glimpse into the new, the quirky, and a world of imagination with artists, innovators, collectors and curiosities.

Artificial intelligence specialists Complexica are located on the third floor of the facility. The Adelaide-born company supports some of the biggest brands across Australia including Pfizer, Pernod Ricard, Drakes and Metcash with AI software that helps clients to optimise their processes across their supply chains and sales mechanisms.

Complexica has an international presence and employs 100 staff across Australia and Europe, with the new WEST facility its global headquarters.

“We have always positioned WEST as not only a master-planned community but also as a place where business can thrive and deliver an optimum work-life balance,” said Commercial & General Executive Chair Jamie McClurg.

“I’ve enjoyed watching Complexica’s rapid growth and am delighted to be welcoming such an exciting brand to WEST.”

Complexica was recently highlighted by The Australian as one of the top 20 rising tech stars in the country. The company is planning a sharemarket listing this year, with the current capital raising target in the realm of $25 million-$50 million.
