Commercial & General’s residential project WEST – the redevelopment of the former Footy Park in West Lakes – is proving popular with a variety of buyer types, and is a hive of activity with construction work underway for multiple stages.
WEST Project Director, Chris Menz, said civil works for Stage One of the project were now complete and included 62 terrace home sites and two apartment sites, with residents who bought in Stage One expected to move into their homes from Mid-2017.
“So far residential homes valued at more than $70million have been sold, and commercial developments have just tipped $20million, with a variety of retail options available to residents to access throughout different areas of the WEST precinct,” said Mr Menz.
“We’ve been very pleased to see an even mix of downsizers, upgraders, empty nesters, first home buyers and investors buying at WEST. We deliberately planned WEST to include a wide variety of home styles and price points in the project, and it’s fantastic to see that the uptake so far truly reflects that diversity – it’s the foundation for creating a new and inclusive community.”
Construction activity will only increase over the coming months, as Stages Two and Three of the project take shape and two more apartment buildings are added to the landscape – construction of Jasmine Apartments has already commenced, and WEST’s third apartment building The Gallery is set to follow in a few months’ time.
“Right now the focus is on the construction of the stunning open spaces of our Central Park, and the release of new terrace homes and Stage Three in March,” said Mr Menz. We are launching a new first home buyer home for under $400,000 in the next month. With WEST’s signature architectural style and build quality and with the government’s First Home Owner Grant available, these new terrace homes will be popular.
“The new $1million Central Park will be the centre piece of the precinct, an inviting open space for families, friends and neighbours to get together and enjoy beautifully landscaped parklands, including a picturesque water feature, walking and cycling trails, shelter and BBQ and wide open lawns. We’re looking forward to celebrating the opening of this wonderful space with the community upon completion, which is planned for early June 2017.”
