The awards program, run by the Australian Institute of Architects,  provides public and peer recognition of South Australian architectural work, as well as providing a valuable mechanism to showcase local architects and architecture across Australia and abroad.

Ivy Apartments comprises 18 one, two and three bedroom apartments, all with private courtyards, generous balconies, an abundance of natural light and a beautiful location next to WEST’s ‘Central Park’. The homes were designed by local SA firm, Davis + Davis Architects, with the aim of creating luxury homes that suit a variety of buyers and incorporate carefully-considered internal finishes in order to cater for a low maintenance lifestyle.

Mario Dreosti, SA Chapter President of the Australian Institute of Architects praised the development for offering larger apartments and a flexibility in a range that attracted a variety of occupants. He also highlighted the vision of Ivy Apartments, commenting, “We’re looking to lower-rise buildings that feel like their own smaller communities and have a more residential, rather than commercial-residential, scale to them.”

Chris Menz, Executive Director, Communities, Commercial & General welcomed the recognition, saying, “Ivy is a really special boutique proposition that we’re very proud of, but to have it recognised externally by experts in the architecture industry is extremely rewarding. Our ambition for WEST is to create beautiful homes alongside great lifestyle and amenity, and to have this community ethos commended by the judges at this influential awards program provides affirmation of that vision coming to fruition.”
